About Hatch
Creative Change. No Fluff. No Therapy Tropes.
Hatch is founded and run by Mark Maitland, a creative psychotherapist, coach, and change specialist with a BA in Communications and an MA in Creative Psychotherapy.
Over the past decade, Mark has helped over 200 clients make meaningful, lasting changes—working with everyone from high-profile creatives and corporate leaders to everyday people who just want to feel unstuck and real again.
He specialises in overcoming resistance to change, using his own model that blends creativity, behavioural psychology, and story work. His approach isn’t about endless reflection—it’s about action. Insight is only useful if it leads to movement.
Mark has:
Coached corporate sales teams in influence and mindset
Led leadership change programmes in business environments
Worked in education, supporting young people with special needs
Helped individuals in private practice break through emotional and mental blocks
Contributed to over 50 mainstream media articles on personal development and change psychology
What sets Hatch apart is its rejection of passive talking therapy.
Mark believes creativity outperforms conversation—and that traditional counselling too often keeps people stuck, slow, and spinning in insight without transformation.
"Stories don’t change through talking. They change when you become an active participant in them."
Alongside his work with Hatch, Mark is also a published writer, currently completing his second novel—because the work of story, change, and identity runs through everything he does.
If you're ready to shift, Hatch is here to help you do it—with clarity, creativity, and real momentum.
